Drug Interactions

For Maca: May interact with medications that increase the risk of bleeding, including aspirin, anticoagulants ("blood thinners") such as warfarin (Coumadin®) or heparin, anti-platelet drugs such as clopidogrel (Plavix®), and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®) or naproxen (Naprosyn®, Aleve®). Maca may act as a stimulant and cause hypertension (high blood pressure). Pets taking medication for high blood pressure, or those taking other stimulant medications, should consult with a qualified Vet before combining therapies.

Cautions

For Maca: Do not to administer to pets  affected by hypertension, pets who are post operative or pregnant or nurising. 

For Suma:  Suma contains plant saponins and exceeding suggested dosages may cause mild nausea and stomach cramping. Suma should be mixed into your pet's food as powder alone may cause wheezing or an asthmatic response. Do not exceed suggested dosage.

For Carob: Do not exceed suggested dosages.

For Pollen: Do not use if your pet has hypersensitivity or allergy to bees, honey or pollen, or an allergy to ragweed and chrysanthemums. Cautioned for pets with blood disorders or liver disease.
