Contraindications

Do not use if your dog or cat is pregnant, lactating, hypotensive, dehydrated, has low blood pressure, has uncontrolled diarrhea, is using “water pills;” suffers from an intestinal obstruction or is experiencing abdominal pain from unknown causes. Do not exceed recommended dosages.

Drug Interactions

May interact with Digoxin (Lanoxin), Warfarin (Coumadin.) and water pills. May potentiate hypertensive drugs and drugs for liver conditions.

Cautions

Cautioned for pets diagnosed with IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease), abdominal pain (diagnosed or undiagnosed), intestinal blockage, loose stools, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, appendicitis, stomach inflammation, anal prolapse, or hemorrhoids. Do not use for more than 30 days without a 7-10 day break in use. Long term usage may affect electrolyte balance and lead to potassium deficiency. Considered safe for constipated cats or dogs.

Dosage

Dogs and cats up to 15 pounds: 1 capsule daily. Dogs and cats 16+ pounds: 1 capsule, two times dialy. (May split 1 capsule two times daily. Puppies and kittens should be given half the dosage of adult dogs and cats.)
